At the start of November, members of The Workspace thoroughly enjoyed a community dinner, hosted by The Park Exchange at our Morningside branch.
About the evening: like a family dinner
As the evening kicked off, members from various branches gathered around a table filled with delicious nibbles and wine.
At a community dinner, each guest is asked to suggest a topic and place it in a bowl. Throughout the evening, topics are chosen and woven into the conversation.
Each dinner has a host, or “game master”, who guides the process. At our Morningside event, Etienne Davids, a local comedian, served this role. He carried the night beautifully, filling the room with laughter and adding interesting insights.
The event had the air of a family dinner. The diverse group shared their thoughts and opinions, laughed together and listened, and everyone learnt something.
The evening ended on a sweet note, with an ice-cream tasting of five different flavours by local business, Royal Danish Homemade Ice Cream.
Thanks to staff at The Workspace, The Park Exchange, Etienne Davids, Royal Danish Homemade Ice Cream and all members who attended for a fun evening of community and new thoughts.
We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and hope to see you at the next one!
