Getting around Sandton
Sandton is home to a Gautrain station. It’s located on Rivonia Road, between West Street and Fifth Avenue (GPS S:26°06.468′, E:28°03.450′). Opening and closing times for the station are available here.
In addition, regular Gautrain buses run from the Station to Fourways, Gallo Manor, Rivonia and Randburg.
A large number of taxi and shuttle services, including the likes of Uber and Bolt, operate within the city. If you’re feeling adventurous, there’s even a tuk tuk service in Sandton!
Sandton shopping malls
Defining Sandton’s skyline, Sandton City is one of South Africa’s most iconic (and upmarket) shopping malls. Along with over 300 shops, it features:

- a family-focussed Fun District that includes cinemas, a carousel, a food court and the largest Hamleys South Africa (with a slide for children to ride straight into the store)
- a bling-filled “Diamond Walk”, which is home to global luxury brands – among them Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Alexander McQueen, Giorgio Armani, Jimmy Choo, Louis Vuitton and Cartier.
Adjoining Sandton City is Nelson Mandela Square, with its famous statue of Mandela and a wide choice of restaurants and exclusive shops.
