In March, our ladies at The Workspace had a “dirty girls’ day out”, navigating the obstacles and braving the mud at the 2017 #3 GP Muddy Princess.
The Workspace was delighted to sponsor the event – a 5-kilometre obstacle mud run for women, designed to create awareness of a very real issue… breast cancer.
A mad, muddy course
This year, the charity obstacle course was located at Rietvlei Zoo Farm, in Johannesburg.
In total, it included 17 different obstacle challenges. There were water-filled ditches to ford, muddy tunnels to crawl through, nets to climb and boggy, swampy paths to navigate. There was even a large dumpster to get across – filled with muddy water, of course.
Getting through it all involved plenty of team work, many laughs and a lot of mud!
Women of all shapes and sizes were welcome, and some came wearing pink hats and tutus. Like all the Muddy Princess events, the run wasn’t a competition and there was no timing. Everyone finished at their own pace, and everyone was a winner (and a muddy princess).
The day was a perfect excuse to have some fun.
It was also an opportunity to remember all those who have lost the battle with breast cancer, and the strong woman who are still fighting. You are amazing.
Well done girls – we are very proud of you.
